What can I expect at my first class?
All of our classes are open to people of all ages (13+), sizes, shapes, experience levels, and fitness levels. Our schedule of classes ranges from gentle, meditative, restorative classes, to high-intensity classes designed to increase your strength and flexibility. If you click on a particular class on our online schedule, a description of the class will pop up to give you further details about that specific class. Whichever class you decide to try first, the teacher will always offer modifications to accommodate everyone in the room, and ensure a judgment-free and safe environment for all. If you would prefer to chat with a teacher directly, come ~5-10 minutes early to their class and they would be happy to hear your concerns, questions, and connect with you to make you as comfortable as possible. Do I need to bring my own mat?
You can if you’d like, but it is not necessary. We have plenty of mats to go around and are happy to lend out any other equipment needed for the class, free of charge.
Do I need to register online before coming to a class?
We recommend signing up online, but it is not required. Feel free to drop in any class you’d like. If an emergency should happen and we have to cancel a class (ie – snow storms, or other extreme inclement weather is usually the only case cancellations happen), we will be able to personally reach out to everyone that signed up for a class to let them know about the cancellation. Signing up for a class online allows us to communicate quickly and effectively if need be. Our yoga schedule as it appears on our website is live, and updates every minute. If any cancellations should occur, you will see it on our website, social media post, and through e-blasts.
Where do I park?
There are metered spots directly outside our door on the street. If you do not see any open spots, you can turn into the Bank Street Parking Garage which has its entrance directly across the street from our door. All the parking meters and the garage take cash or credit cards.
I am not flexible at all. Am I going to make a fool of myself in a class?
Never. We hear this quite often, too. Our studio is completely judgment-free. The teachers work hard to make sure every individual is made to feel comfortable with whatever their physical limitations are that day. Most yogis do not start out being flexible, it is yoga the makes them flexible. Come with an open mind and an open heart, and you will likely be surprised what your body will allow you to do in just a few classes.
I have a voucher. How do I redeem it?
Bring proof of purchase of your Groupon with you to your first class, and we’ll get your account set up in the studio. There is no need to register for a class online before coming your first time. You can drop in any class ~10 minutes early, and we’ll take you through the registration process. If you’d prefer to do this ahead of time, you absolutely can call Marisa at 973-975-0270, and she will get you set up.
How long are each of your classes?
Each class is 60 minutes long.
What should I wear?
Wear any clothes you’d like that you feel comfortable moving around in. We ask that all of our student not wear shoes in the studio.
Is there a place I can change?
Absolutely! Have a pretty large bathroom you can change in and take a shower if you’d like. You can store your stuff in one of the many cubbies we have right outside the studio while you take a class.
